A Welcoming Return

September was a whirlwind of enjoyment and great company as I came back to Switzerland to start my 2nd year of uni.

After having spent six long weeks of my summer in my hometown in the Midwest, it was difficult to leave my family and friends again. But this past September I fell back in love with Switzerland and I am proud to call Geneva my current home. Here are some photos of Geneva's infamous Jet d'Eau (water jet in english).

What I love most about Geneva is how modestly beautiful the city is. At times it becomes so easy to get caught up in life and then you forget to enjoy simple things. After two years in this country, I no longer feel like a tourist. But this year I'm excited to rediscover Switzerland and be proud about my American touristy tendencies.

And of course, the best part about being back was the warm welcome from friends!

Strolling along the lake in Geneva was the perfect way to come back and just take in the beauty and life of the city.

Here's Thomas sporting his new Daniel Wellington watch. He has the classic St. Andrew's and my gosh it's stunning.

That evening we enjoyed a few glasses of wine next to the lake before heading off to dinner.

Let's just say that someone is a bit obsessed with his new addition to the collection. I mean with a watch that elegant, I would be too.

We used our Passeport Gourmand to eat with a 50% discount at la Petite Vendée. These days we always take a look through the Passeport Gourmand to find a great restaurant for a great price before making a reservation!

We went for the terrace. It's huge and with a lively atmosphere.

I got filets de perche au beurre that was served with a pound of fries which came to disappoint as they were thin, tasteless, and limp. I didn't take a close up since even from afar the plate looks rather daunting. And not in the good way.

If we didn't have our Passeport Gourmand with us for a 50% discount, I don't think we would go back. The service was mediocre and the food was overly priced for simple dishes. But the terrace was definitely a plus.
